My Home For 2014

The past five months have FLOWN by, and it is with a very heavy heart that I am leaving the Conservation Village on Thabo Tholo today!! But now I have a bit of time on my hands I will be able to post about all the things I haven't been able to so far. So to begin with, seeing as I no longer live there I thought I should show you all where I've been living for the past five months.

The view of camp as you arrive. My tent is hidden at the back left.

My tent, visited by Leopards and Snakes amongst many other things while I've been here.

The kitchen and herb garden.

The kitchen area, where we cook over the open fire most nights.

The outdoor shower, where we found the young Black Mamba.

The Donkey: we use this to heat the shower, lighting a fire underneath and dropping a log from the top to keep it going for long enough for everyone to get a hot shower, very useful in winter!!

The Braai area.

Our "Office". A Mozambique Spitting Cobra has regularly been seen in the gaps between the steps.

The Loo...

...with a view!!

It has been an incredible place to live, bang in the middle of the bush where anything can (and often does) wander through; I'm going to miss this place, but I leave with some incredible memories and with hope I'll be back very soon!!
